Annesley Hall

Located in Nottinghamshire, England, and North of Hucknall, near to the village of Annesley, Annesley Hall is said to be a 13th century building dating back to the 1200s. However, sources also say that the ownership of the location can be traced back to the Domesday Book of 1086 under the name of 'Aneslie'. The hall was home to the Annesley family before eventually becoming the home of the Chaworth-Musters family who were one of the most powerful families in Nottinghamshire at the time. The grounds around Annesley Hall also included a church and a Motte and Bailey castle which people suspect may have a connection to the legend of Robin Hood. This is because there are suspicions that a member of the De Annesley family may have been the real life Robin Hood with the brother of the Sheriff of Nottingham possibly building the castle to keep an eye on him.
