Kalani Ghost Hunter

Kalani Smith has had a relatively short span of involvement when it comes to the paranormal, but with a following of over 3 million on Tiktok, his presence is significant. In the paranormal field, Kalani goes by Kalani Ghost Hunter, or KGH, and has branded himself as 'The Ghost Hunting Cowboy'. Kalani expanded his paranormal content from Tiktok to both Instagram and YouTube and, despite starting his social media presence in the paranormal field, Kalani has since pivoted from the paranormal to instead reviewing British culinary staples. This pivot saw a vast increase in his following, and so he now chooses to focus on content relating to food and travel; particularly specialising in both British and American topics.

History

Kalani Smith, more commonly known as Kalani Ghost Hunter or KGH for short, was born on the 21st of June 1998. I've found contradictory information about where he was born with one source claiming Las Vegas, Nevada and another source claiming Nashville, Tennessee. Regardless, Kalani is American and, as of writing this article in the March of 2026, he is 27 years old. As with his place of birth, some sources have also varied when discussing exactly where Kalani is from. Some sources have said he is from Mount Juliet, Tennessee, but others have said he is from Nashville, Tennessee. Having looked at a map of America, it seems Mount Juliet is a city located east of Nashville, Tennessee, and is classed as a suburb of Nashville. So, I think some sources have said Kalani is from Nashville, Tennessee, as that may be more well known than Mount Juliet; but in reality he may actually be from Mount Juliet, Tennessee. As usual, this is just a speculatory point from me to try and make sense of sources differing in information.

Kalani has explained on his website that ghost hunting is about exploring a passion for him, and this passion dates back to when he was eleven years old. It was at this age that he saw a civil war drummer boy while at the Shiloh Battlefield in Tennessee. Apparently this apparition was so convincing that he thought it was a living person until it disappeared. About this event, Kalani has said he remembers it with clarity and that he has been interested in the paranormal ever since. However, Kalani's social media presence didn't start until the May of 2016 when he first joined Instagram at the age of 17 years old.

On Instagram, Kalani's main account is called kalanighosthunter and, as of writing this, he has 505k followers. Even though he first joined during the May of 2016, his first Instagram post was not until the 7th of June 2016. The first posts he uploaded on the platform were all to do with his life and his family, suggesting that it began as a personal account to show his life; not as anything to do with the paranormal or pursuing a career in content creation. Kalani has two seperate YouTube channels; these being 'KGH (Kalani Ghost Hunter)' and 'KALANI and SAV'. The KGH account, as of writing this, has 159k subscribers with 203 videos and was first created on the 28th of March 2021. The KALANI and SAV account, as of writing this, has 78.9k subscribers with 139 videos and was created on the 16th of January 2024. The KGH account is the one where Kalani's paranormal investigations were uploaded, and the KALANI and SAV account is focused on travel and food based content.

It was on the 24th of May 2021 that Kalani became married to Savannah after the couple had known each other since at least the 18th of June 2016. I don't know when they first met or first got together, but Kalani uploaded a photo of the two together on the 18th of June 2016 and so I assume they've likely been together since at least this date. As far as I can tell, they currently have no children together; however, Kalani has expressed that he would like to have children with Savannah one day. It was during the July of 2021 that Kalani became a full-time content creator after reaching 10,000 followers. Before this, he was working in politics as a Legislative Assistant and Bill Clerk for the TN House of Representatives. Kalani has said that he enjoyed parts of the job, but his passion was content creation and investigating the paranormal.

Kalani has also expressed that he begun his involvement in the paranormal by creating short tiktok videos about ghost hunting while he and his wife were staying the night at a haunted hotel in Texas. Savannah told him 'you should make a few videos and post them'; and so he did. Kalani's tiktok account, as of writing this, has 3.3 million followers. His very first video on this tiktok account was uploaded on the 21st of August 2021 and discusses how an old account got banned, so he created this one as a backup. He also discussed doing live ghost hunts on tiktok, and this first video currently has 7731 views. His second oldest video on the tiktok account was uploaded on the same day and contains the title 'Octagon Hall Haunted Civil War Home'. This second video currently has 7015 views.

Kalani's paranormal investigations have gained media attention as The Sun published an article on the 11th of December 2021 which discussed his investigation of the Waverly Hills Sanatorium. The Sun has quoted Kalani as saying the following about investigating the sanatorium:

“The building has its own body chute, which had a dark energy to it, considering it was a 500 foot-long tunnel that was used to send supplies in from the bottom, as well as countless bodies of dead patients that were discreetly removed from the top... There were also the installed solariums which were used to give patients of tuberculosis fresh air... This was super impactful because tuberculosis is an airborne bacteria, this meant that they were just accelerating the spread through Waverly Hills... You still get that sense that someone is watching you the moment you enter the doors... I think the number of deaths plays a big part in that, as well as the experimental treatments, they had many experimental treatments that could be considered modern-day torture... The notorious nature of this location made it a must-see to me... It lived up to my expectations... I am returning in January for another investigation... The desire to find more credible evidence of the unknown pulls me to places and I believe Waverly could provide anyone with an experience that could convince them of the supernatural.”

Kalani has also investigated places such as Gwrych Castle, the Sallie House, the Edinburgh Vaults, and the Ancient Ram Inn. Kalani has also featured on a few podcasts, with the first I've been able to find being the 'Real Hauntings Real Ghost Stories' podcast which was uploaded on the 11th of July 2022. For this podcast, Kalani was interviewed by Noah and his guest co-host Brittney Crabb. It's towards the end of 2022, on the 20th of October 2022, that Kalani's first video was uploaded to his KGH YouTube channel. This video is titled 'OVERNIGHT IN A HAUNTED NFL STADIUM | NFL Ghost Hunt Tennessee Titans' and is 28 minutes and 14 seconds long.

On the 4th of December 2022, Kalani did falsely get into a little bit of trouble for a particular paranormal investigation. While he was livestreaming at the Octagon House, located in Circleville, Ohio, a commenter said they were going to call the police; but Kalani didn't think anything of it. Shortly after, at around 8:30pm, the police turned up thinking that Kalani was robbing the house. Due to the misunderstanding, Kalani was put into handcuffs and detained. The property manager, Tommy Gill, then cleared it all up with the sheriffs by letting them know Kalani had permission to be there. This all occured on day four of a seven day investigation Kalani was doing with his friend @ghostlytravelswithzac. The Sun has featured quotes from Kakani about the incident within an article, and they are as follows:

“An out-of-state number reported the live stream for burglary and vandalism, where we were put in handcuffs and detained... I’m living in the house alone, but was with my friend when they arrived in multiple cars... We were investigating upstairs in the house [prior] and had a very innocent message come through during a spirit box session... They said: ‘They are coming’ and at first, I thought this was nothing... A few minutes later, I had police at the door and I truly think the spirit was warning us that the police were in pursuit... I was surprised to hear the police pounding on the front door, but when I heard them, I knew something was up... Several minutes before they arrived, a random account said they were going to call the police – but I didn’t think much of it because people joke all the time... I had full authority and permission to be in the home, so I wasn’t worried about it, but they decided a call needed to be made... It all worked out in the end and luckily, no one was hurt, but it could’ve been a bad situation.”

Kalani continued to investigate haunted locations into 2023 with him posting a tiktok video during the January of 2023 which explained an upcoming trip he had to a haunted house located in Savannah, Georgia. Kalani's first livestream on his KGH YouTube channel occured on the 11th of February 2023 and is titled 'On the road to the Clown Motel'. This livestream video currently has 1489 views and lasted two hours and nineteen minutes in length. His next podcast appearance which I've found was on the 'Ghost Magnet with Bridget' podcast. His episode is titled 'Kalani Ghost Hunter - The Ghost Hunting Hawaiian Cowboy' and it was uploaded on the 1st of May 2023.

Kalani's longest video on his KGH YouTube channel, lasting for two hours and thirty-seven minutes, was uploaded on the 2nd of July 2023. This video is titled 'TRAPPED in the REAL HELL HOUSE LLC | DON'T WATCH ALONE | (VERY SCARY) ft. @ExploringWithJosh'. The first video on the KALANI and SAV YouTube channel was uploaded on the 16th of January 2024, and it could be argued it's this YouTube channel which has led to the pivot in content seen by Kalani today with him uploading more content focused around family, travel, and food. This first video was forty minutes in length and was titled 'Amsterdam Day 1: Epic Arrival and Ultimate Dutch Snack Haul!'. The video currently has 23,161 views, and so shows it has been quite popular.

It was on the 18th of April 2024 that the BBC published an article with the headline 'Tiktok star reviews Hull chip spice and loves it', and this is just one of many examples where articles have been published from numerous sources which discuss Kalani's food reviews and travels. Aside from Hull, another place Kalani has visited is Thornbury. The Gazette has quoted the chair of Thornbury's Chamber of Commerce, Aimee Winter-Tuck, as saying the following about Kalani's visit:

“The chamber extended a warm invitation to Kalani and his delightful partner to experience the charm of our town firsthand... During their visit, Kalani explored our local businesses, participated in an exciting ghost hunt, and enjoyed a luxurious stay at a Airbnb in Rockhampton... His enthusiasm for our community is palpable, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming him back later this year... We wanted to say a huge thank you to the establishments that hosted Kalani and Savannah during their visit.”

Kalani took his dad to the UK on the 19th of July 2024, and this could have been the start of Kalani getting his family more involved in his content. It was then during the August of 2024 that Kalani and Savannah visited Arbroath, located in Scotland. An article published on the 6th of August 2024 details that, recently to the publication date, Kalani welcomed 150 fans for dinner at The Malletsheugh, located near Glasgow, Scotland. I've found details of an event titled 'An Evening with Kalani Ghost Hunter', located at The Malletsheugh in Newton Mearns, near Glasgow. I'm not certain if it's the same event as there is no date listed, but it cost £45 per person and included a three course dinner.

Another event similar to the one at The Malletsheugh occured on Sunday the 21st of July 2024. This one was also titled 'An Evening with Kalani Ghost Hunter', except it occured at 'Brewhemia' which is located on Market Street in Edinburgh, Scotland. The venue was a beer palace, kitchen, caffè, and prosecco bar, and the event cost £45 per person to attend. The event also begun at 7:30pm and featured Kalani sharing his experiences over a meal, plus live entertainment.

Also on the 6th of August 2024, Kalani uploaded a video on YouTube which featured Kalani going lobster fishing with the Scottish celebrity chef Dean Banks. Kalani had tried the chef's signature lobster dish, called it 'life changing', and then went to meet Dean the next day. From this point, Kalani and Dean stayed in touch and became friends. The Daily Record has written about Kalani and Dean's interactions and they've featured a number of quotes from both Kalani and Dean within articles. Kalani has been quoted saying the following about Dean teaching him how to cook lobster:

"The wild thing is Dean taught me on camera how to cook his signature lobster dish, which he has never revealed before... That was a surprise and kind of a big deal for me – I didn’t expect he would let me show that... So this video on my YouTube channel does have a real educational element too as well as the entertainment of seeing us out on the boat and stuff... Going behind the scenes with a guy like Dean and cooking his iconic dish with him in his kitchen was a once in a lifetime experience – seeing the intensity and passion that goes into food at that level... I know I am very lucky, most people don’t get to see that up close. So this video has some really special stuff in it... Dean made sure he showed me the humane way to kill lobster before cooking of course – that’s important.”

Kalani has also been quoted by The Daily Record saying the following:

“It was an amazing experience and Sav and I are really grateful to Dean for inviting us into his life and his kitchen – he’s become a good friend – and to Tommy for taking us all out on his boat... I love Scotland – we feel really at home here. I wanted to learn more about the culture of Scotland and the different communities and this felt like a really cool way to do that... Going out on his local fisherman’s boat with Dean allowed me to see more of that culture of Scotland and how people have lived here for so long... We went out from Arbroath and seeing the natural beauty of the harbour, cliffs, water, all the views form that different perspective – plus seeing how much the ocean provides for this community... It was great working with Dean and for sure we will do more stuff together – who knows what it could lead to? I love his food and he has been so supportive, we’re friends and it would be great to work together more... Sure, there was a little pressure cooking in front of a high end chef especially when it’s the dish he is world-famous for – I’ve been making food my entire life but not like this. And I’d never cooked lobster at all... Dean is great though – it was really good to see him again and he made us so welcome. I had to meet him after I tried his food back at Haar, we went to his place Dulse in Edinburgh the next day and hung out. And we’ve been friends ever since.”

Finally, The Daily Record has quoted Dean Banks talking about his interactions with Kalani and Savannah. Within their article, Dean has been quoted as saying the following about the two:

“Kalani and Sav and I really hit it off when we met up after he’d been to Haar for dinner a few months back... People love his reviews and videos because they’re so honest and genuine and that’s exactly how he is in real life... I wanted to show him more of our amazing food and culture – Scotland really does have the greatest produce in the world and that’s at the heart of everything I do... We have a lot of ideas for things we can do together so we will definitely hook up next time he’s back over... As for his cooking, you’ll need to watch the video to see how he did!”

On the 30th of August 2024, Kalani addressed his ghost related content slowing down in a video titled 'This was the hardest video I've ever had to make... I'm sorry'. In this video, Kalani addresses that when he started his content he was living out of his Ford Explorer and streaming multiple nights a week, non-stop, to get his channel going. He also addressed health concerns caused by an inconsistent sleep schedule combined with gaining weight due to both fast food consumption and no exercise in a gym. He said these things were caused by how much of his time was being taken up with content creation, so he didn't have time for anything else.

In the video, Kalani also addressed how his mental health was being neglected. He said that both of his in-laws had died; and before his mother-in-law died, he chose to stream and go to a location instead of staying with Savannah to look after her mum who then went to the hospital and died. Kalani also discussed that before Savannah's dad died, he had again gone to a location to livestream while her dad was in hospital with a terminal illness. Kalani expressed that her dad did encourage Kalani to go there and film, however Kalani did eventually leave the stream to say goodbye to Savannah's dad in person.

In his video, Kalani also expressed that he would like to have kids with Savannah one day and so felt he had to take a step back from content creation in order to be a good husband and father to his future kids. After all of this, Kalani explained that he needed to take a break from the paranormal and he announced a schedule of things moving forwards. He said that YouTube and Twitch would feature a monthly ghost hunt stream, but these streams would no longer be on tiktok. He also announced that there would be a new YouTube video every two weeks, but that this would change to weekly releases from September through November. Kalani also expressed that he wanted to spend time with his family.

On the 29th of October 2024, Kalani featured on the next podcast I've been able to find; 'Blethered' with Sean McDonald. On the 22nd of June 2025, an article was published which documented how Kalani had visited Norwich Cathedral 'earlier in the week'. The article states that Kalani called the structure 'one of the best preserved Romanesque Cathedrals in all of Europe'. The Eastern Daily Press has written about Kalani visiting this cathedral, and they have quoted him as saying the following:

"I just visited Norwich Cathedral, and honestly... It blew me away... It's been standing here since 1096. Built by the Normans using stone that they literally shipped over from France... This place has survived Viking raids, rebellions, a lightning strike that destroyed the original spire, and somehow it's still standing... It's one of the best preserved Romanesque cathedrals in all of Europe... Walking through it felt like stepping straight into medieval England... This place has seen monks chanting in Latin, Tudor executions in the yard, and nearly 1,000 years of history... If these walls could talk, they'd probably speak in old French and then switch to Middle English. I highly recommend checking it out."

It was on the 16th of September 2025 that Kalani did a livestream which lasted for fifty-two minutes titled 'It's time to tell you the truth...'. In this video, he announced that he would be doing fewer but longer videos with no live investigations. In this video, he also voiced concerns about his paranormal content not performing as well as his travel and food related content. This is the most recent livestream video Kalani has on his KGH YouTube channel and it has 7.7k views.

On the 8th of October 2025, Kalani met the mayor of Abergavenny and even got to wear the mayoral robes. Later in the year, on Tuesday the 14th of October 2025, Kalani posted on Facebook at 9:30pm saying 'I'm locked in this haunted Welsh Castle'. The Welsh castle in question was Gwrych Castle, popularly known as a filming location for the TV series 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'. Dr Mark Baker, chair of the Gwyrch Castle Preservation Trust, has been quoted in 'Rhyl, Prestatyn & Abergele' as having said the following about Kalani's stay: "Having Kalani Smith investigate Gwrych Castle ahead of our Halloween events has been a real pleasure... The castle has always had its fair share of ghost stories and unexplained happenings, and his visit has added to the excitement as we head into the Halloween season... It’s also great to have his support for the restoration of the castle and the work we’re doing to bring it back to life."

On the 20th of November 2025, Kalani posted his first video to his 'kalani_eats' Instagram account. This account, as of writing this, has 187 followers and 14 posts which focus purely on Kalani's food related content. Regarding why Kalani chooses to make so much content reviewing food, he has said he wants to prove that British food isn't bland. BBC News has written an article about Kalani's reviews and they've quoted him as saying the following about them:

“The most interesting thing about this journey… is that the perception around the world, especially in the US, is that the food in the UK is bland, it's bad... I think my whole objective up until this point has been is to document that this is not the case... There's obviously things that are not good in every country, but there's also some things that are absolutely incredible... Some of the best tacos I've had in the UK can be found in Cardiff Market... I had to get laverbread from Wales. I had this cockles and laverbread concoction that actually was really good... Laverbread by itself, without cooking. It was not a good idea... Joe's Ice Cream in Swansea is one that I've had commented hundreds and hundreds of times, and everyone from Swansea talks about Joe's Ice Cream... Joe's Ice Cream is good, but it doesn't rank in the top 10 for best ice cream I've ever had... It's not something that I would drive or stand in line for... The key is - you have to be respectful, right? - If you watch any video that I do, even if it is negative, most of the time, I try my best to be respectful... Each city in each region has a dish that they kind of cling to and and they're proud of this dish... If I don't think something tastes good, I'm not going to say [it does] to, you know, save someone's feelings... Just because it's not my taste and it's not something I enjoy doesn't mean that someone else out there doesn't… I will always be honest with people.”

The most recent paranormal investigation video on Kalani's KGH YouTube channel was uploaded on the 22nd of November 2025. This video is titled 'we ESCAPED the CURSED FOREST... SOMETHING CHASED US (Scary Camp)' and lasts for seventeen minutes and forty seconds. On the 9th of December 2025, an article was published which discussed Kalani reviewing the 'best service station in the UK'. This review was featured in a Kalani video called 'American finds best service station in the UK', and it was about Tebay services which is independently run by the Westmorland family. Kalani has been quoted in The Westmoreland Gazette as saying the following about the service station:

“We’re on the road tonight. Nothing sounded better than a steak and ale pie with some gravy. They also had this orange and chocolate bun with an icing on top that looked incredible. They have some really good stuff at these service stations... Look at that. Great, generous filling. So this whole plate was £12.95 but for being on the road, I’m okay with that. The meat’s class – good-quality meat. Gravy, just a hair watery for me – I like it a little bit thicker, but personal preference... It’s really hard to beat a good pie on a cold day here in the UK. The mash, not a big fan of the mash, but the pie I would do again... One thing you have to keep in consideration: this is a service station. A lot of service stations we’ve visited – the food is grim. But Tebay, this one’s nice.”

On the 15th of February 2026, Kalani uploaded what was, until recently, his most recent video to his KGH YouTube channel. This video was titled 'It's time to come clean' and, at the time of writing this, has 40K views. In this video, Kalani discusses that his paranormal content will be limited to collaborations with friends and the occasional video. He also explains in this video that he wants to focus his time on his family and friends, plus he wants to focus on including them in more of his videos to keep as memories of them for the future. Kalani also addressed that he doesn't do much ghost hunting anymore, but that he isn't going to abandon it. Instead, it will just be one or two videos a year which are based on the paranormal. In the video, Kalani went on to explain that he is going to try and be a YouTuber who makes entertaining and fun videos which aren't just YouTube shorts.

The video also saw Kalani address the fact that all of his YouTube videos before that one had been changed to be members only to view. To be a member to Kalani's YouTube channel, it costs 99p per month and that grants you the ability to watch his old paranormal related videos. Kalani explained that this was done so that he could have a clean slate with his YouTube channel, and he felt the options were to either make the videos private, to make them members only, or to delete them entirely. As proof to this clean slate, Kalani has since uploaded to his KGH YouTube channel, on the 11th of March 2026, with a video titled 'The LARGEST Alpine Coaster in America (Pigeon Forge Alpine Coaster). This latest video isn't anything to do with the paranormal and is the kind of travel and entertainment based content Kalani said he would deliver going forwards.

On the 16th of February 2026, the KALANI and SAV YouTube channel uploaded their most recent video. This video is titled 'Americans try UK CHINESE Takeaway', is a few seconds under ten minutes long, and has 183k views as of writing this. As of Friday the 13th of March 2026, there are no livestreamed videos on the KALANI and SAV YouTube channel, just lots of food reviews. On the 18th of February 2026, a video was uploaded to Kalani's tiktok account which became a pinned video. This video is titled 'American SURPRISES Gordon Ramsey with Nostalgic Snack' and shows Kalani gift various snacks to Gordon, and they both have a drink of Irn Bru together. For this video, Kalani was invited to meet Gordon by Netflix to promote the Netflix documentary series 'Being Gordon Ramsey'. As of writing this, the video has 746.2k views.

Kalani's wife, Savannah, uploads to Tiktok under 'Savannah Ghost Hunter' and her most recent upload was on Friday the 13th of March 2026. She has 41.5k followers and the video, as of writing this, has 1,499 views. Kalani's most recent tiktok video was also uploaded on Friday the 13th of March 2026 and is titled 'Brit Tries Soul Food For The First Time'. This video took place at Doll's Family Cafe and was part of a series that documented Kalani's English friend trying things in America for the first time. As for future paranormal involvements, Kalani is listed as attending the Paracon and Oddities Expo which is going to happen on the 16th and 17th of May 2026. This event will take place at Pennhurst Asylum and will feature a number of guests such as Ghost Hunters, Project Fear, Grimm-Life Collective, Celina Spooky Boo, and Twin Paranormal. The ticket prices for this event seem to vary from $60 to $250 per person.

As of 2026 Kalani has an estimated net worth of $1.5 million and it's said that he earns approximately $500,000 annually from Tiktok, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitch. His content and following have led to sponsorships and brand deals which contribute to his annual earnings. In Kalani's history as a paranormal investigator, he has also taken part in a ritual sacrifice to Robert the Doll with Exploring with Josh. During this event, they offered their blood as a sacrifice to the doll. The Mirror has published quotes from Kalani about the event, and these quotes read as follows:

“We got attacked after the blood ritual was performed and felt like we caught on fire... It got insanely hot and then we both ended up throwing up. Josh was considering going to the hospital if his condition didn’t improve... He was laying [down] pouring water on himself and we had to eventually leave the property for 20 minutes, before returning to continue our investigation in his chamber... The doll is rumoured to curse people that film or video him without permission – and we didn’t ask... We didn’t pick [him] up and he stayed in his case while we were outside of the room, but once we unveiled him, an electric and heavy feeling filled the air. We got some voices that came through on our voice recorder and equipment going off in the chamber. There was also something that came through the spirit box which said it wanted us to stay.”

Kalani has said that, regarding his paranormal investigations, he doesn't investigate to prove anything or to convince people that the paranormal is real. Instead, he just has an interest in it and let's people join him through the content he makes. Kalani has also, from day one, made a point to not be like every other 'famous' person in the sense that he actually wants his community and supporters to feel like part of his family. Kalani believes that he can get incredible interactions at haunted locations because his family is native Hawaiian, and so are very connected to the spiritual side of the world, plus he believes his unorthodox approach also helps to achieve results. He likes to mix it up with the questions he asks spirits because he thinks that they can become bored of the ones people usually ask.

It's also been said that Kalani doesn't go to locations and jump to something being evil or demonic as he thinks that doing this is an overused tactic and nothing more than paranormal marketing. City Lifestyle has quoted Kalani discussing his own beliefs about the paranormal and his approach to it. In City Lifestyle's article, Kalani has said the following:

“I’m the combination of authentic paranormal content with a Gen Z attitude,” he explains. “My non-traditional approach with singing and humor could be why I get as much paranormal activity as I do. I treat them like I’m talking to a living person... I’m a Christian, and I think what I find solidifies my belief in life after death... I’m not in the business of making people believe... but more interested in building my base of understanding and belief in the paranormal... I feel there is a metaphysical environment or parallel that we cannot physically see. I also think that due to certain environmental conditions changing, the veil between our world and the other world is thin enough at times to bleed over... I think many people experience paranormal activity, but their mind chooses not to notice it. In the same breath, I feel that some people assume all things are paranormal comparative to a logical explanation on why things happen.”

On Kalani's website, he does sell merchandise relating to himself. These items include hats, such as beanies and caps, plus stickers, journals, drinks glasses, t-shirts, and hoodies. The prices of these items range from a £4 'KGH Union Jack Edition Sticker' to a £46 'THE GRIM REAPER KGH HOODIE'. As of writing this, Kalani continues to make content; however the vast majority of it is relating to food and travel. Kalani loves being with his family and seeing what the world has to offer, and this is reflected greatly in the videos he makes. Plus, aside from meeting Gordon Ramsey, Kalani has also been fortunate enough to have met Ryan Reynolds.

My Thoughts

Kalani is a fascinating person to have written about because, despite being known as 'Kalani Ghost Hunter', he seems to have mostly retired from making paranormal content. I remember when I first discovered him, it was through his reviews of UK food; and I was confused about how his name related to that. So, it's good to have properly researched him and documented his path going from politics, to paranormal investigation, then to food reviews and travel content. I know there has been backlash from some of his followers about his shift in content, but I absolutely understand why he's done it. It seems he's very family focused, and I completely understand the notion of that being temporary and so worth focusing on; especially as he's admitted to making mistakes about that in the past.

As for his paranormal work, I appreciate that he has acknowledged both sides of the fence with paranormal belief. It's good that he has said that people may choose not notice legitimate activity, but that people should also be looking for normal explanations too. Usually people only acknowledge one of those two points, so its good that he's said both to be true. I do disagree though on what he's said about the veil between our world and the spirit world. While I know that what he's said is a popular belief, I don't personally believe in any veil or separation between worlds. I think that both living humans and spirits exist in the same space and that there is no 'on and off' switch, as can be simply put, when discussing a mysterious veil between worlds as an explanation as to why paranormal activity is sporadic.

Overall, I think that Kalani seems to be extremely polite and honest with the work he does; and this is why it was important to include quotes not only from him but also from those who have known him to some extent. Kalani comes across as knowledgeable about what he discusses, whether that be the paranormal, history, or food, and he always comes across as honest. I would like to think the honesty he discusses when talking about his reviews is also applicable with his paranormal work, and I think him acknowledging talk of demons being down to paranormal marketing is a good sign that his investigations are legitimate. Due to a lack of time, I have been unable to watch his investigations to get a good gage of his legitimacy when investigating; but if his quotes and persona are anything to go by, I would have high hopes for good investigation when watching him.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to The True Paranormal on tiktok and buymeacoffee over the last year! It's really made a huge difference in supporting the work I do here as it means I can keep doing what I enjoy, and hopefully one day I can do it full-time. Due to the quantity of people who have shared article and donated, I can't thank each of you individually here anymore; but I'm going to work on a place to do that so that you all get good public recognition. At the end of each article I will instead be thanking anyone who is an active subscriber or active fan club member on tiktok. So, thank you very much to Harry for being a Super Fan!
