Mary King's Close, also known as 'The Real Mary King's Close', is located in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. This location is not your typical building, but instead is a 'close' which is a Scottish term for a narrow alleyway. While not knowing exactly when the close came to be, the earliest information I've found about it dates to the 1500s. As this location was a cramped and tightly packed area, it was heavily effected by the plague until the plague began to disappear from Scotland after 1660. The close itself was reopened to the public during 1685. The unique thing about this location is it resembles an underground street. It's 'roof' was added when the Royal Exchange was built above it during 1753. The close has had a few names over the years, but it's current name comes from someone believed to have once lived here; Mary King. She was seemingly an influential woman, and gained the ability to vote as a woman three hundred year...

Located one mile north of Kennethmont, which is in Aberdeenshire, Scotland; Leith Hall dates back to 1650, and use of the land dates back even further. Built on the site of an old tower, or castle, Leith Hall stayed in the same family from the land's purchase until the end of World War Two. The building underwent significant additions, improvements, and redevelopment during this time; especially when considering it was originally built as a tower house. A number of the past residents are said to haunt the property, including one who is said to have a blood soaked bandage wrapped around his head. Other hauntings include the sounds of children, bagpipes, and heavy footsteps.  History   The history of Leith Hall dates back to John Leith of Barnes as he is the man who bought the land for his family. The Edinburgh Vaults are known by many names; the South Bridge Vaults, the Blair Street Vaults, the Blair Street Underground Vaults, and the Niddry Street Vaults. Collectively, all these names form the Edinburgh Vaults. Located within Edinburgh's South Bridge, the Edinburgh Vaults went from being a collective of storage spaces and markets for business owners, to a hidden red-light district filled with criminal activity. The dark and damp conditions forced the businesses out and immigration, amongst other factors, caused the poor to move in. Disease and death was rife within the vaults, and murderers along with body snatchers would hide corpses here. With this information, it isn't surprising to find out that the vaults are said to be incredibly haunted.
