Stockport Flat Investigation 4
This investigation is the fourth random word generator based investigation I did in this particular flat in the area of Stockport in the UK. It is the ninth time I had used the spirit talker app to create this list of 'random' words. It is believed that spirits in the area can manipulate the atmosphere around the device, which causes the devices sensors to detect these changes, and it then produces a word in accordance to these detected changes. A skeptic would say either the words are random, or that the words are not random and that this is because the app is somehow programmed to put out words at particular intervals which all have a similar but generic theme. They would also say the app can hear what you say and when you say particular trigger words such as 'name', the app would throw out a name. I disagree. I think those kinds of app can, and do, exist, but I don't think the spirit talker app is one of them. These posts aim to analyse the word lists the app creates to determine any patterns which would imply either legitimate spirit communication, or a fraudulent app. If it is legitimate, I would expect relevant responses regarding the location, repetition of these words, also with these things being repeated predominantly in their relevant locations and not just all over the place. If it is a random word generator, I would expect random intervals along with random words. I shouldn't be able to see any patterns or make a story in any way. If it is fake then I would expect similar results across sessions, along with mostly generic responses, possibly also repetition in the sequence words are said. A fake app would probably more than likely be designed to be spooky and intriguing, a real one would probably be a bit more all over the place and generic.
Above you can see the words list created during this investigation. It was created on the 3rd of May 2021 and I switched on the app at 19:44:07. This post will only discuss this list, not the others I have done in this location. Once I've posted the fifth list, I will compare them all to see if there are any reoccurring words or themes across this location.
Positive words:
1. Laugh
2. I'm at peace
3. Good
Negative words:
1. Mental
2. Jail
3. Mistake
4. Draining
5. I'm sad
6. Screaming
7. Hate
8. Angry
9. Afraid
10. A demon here
11. Darkness
12. Shooting
13. Threat
14. It's scary here
15. We fought here
Names:
1. Walter
2. Gloria
3. Doreen
4. Florence
5. Jimmy
6. James
My first observation from the list is that no time periods are given. My second observation is that there is a huge imbalance between the positive and negative words used. My third observation is that there is an equal split between male and female names spoken: three of each. There are two references to gender, these being 'mum' and 'husband'. The use of 'little' could imply a child spirit being present and as 'I'm sad' and 'screaming' are either side of this, it could imply a small child who is upset, perhaps even a screaming baby. The use of 'mum' definitely implies a child either being present, or of a spirit informing me that it is a mum, and the 'husband' could be the husband to the mum.
Looking through the words, I'm not seeing anything that seems particularly dated. The first three words 'laugh', 'mental', and 'jail' could all be connected, as potentially could the fourth word 'mistake'. When I look over the words, I see a thread of confrontation. It seems like the husband and wife could have fought often, and that it could have gotten serious. I was going to assume 'Gloria' was the name of the mum as it was spoken beside 'knife' and so is tied with the confrontation, but I've just had the thought of perhaps the entity meant to say 'glory', especially as the following says 'a demon here'. I think a similar thing happened when 'James' is spoken after 'Jimmy' as one is an abbreviation of the other, so perhaps one is a preferred name. 'Florence' could be the name of the mum, she could have called her husband 'James' 'Jimmy', and they both could have fought there. I'm not sure how the shooting is relevant, so that word could be random.
Above you can see the first 19 words spoken in the investigation, along with how long it took to say each word and an arrow showing if that time was quicker or slower than the previous time. I'm hoping that if words are related to one another then I will see a pattern in the arrows between those words. I am also hoping that if the list isn't random, then a consistent pattern, or a few consistent patterns, should be seen with the arrows across the list. Seeing these patterns will show it is not a random word generator, and so it is either a fake app or that there is genuine spirit communication happening.
An interesting thing I've just noticed is the arrows between 'laugh' and 'Walter'. Usually, I would look at the arrows here and say there isn't enough of a pattern because the arrows show two decreases, an increase, two decreases, then instead of going back to an increase it is instead two increases. I would argue here that the pattern therefore ends at 'Walter', which is quite exciting because even though the pattern is short, the words here all make a narrative of a man called Walter who went to a mental institute (aka jail) because he made a mistake, was seeing visions, and was possibly schizophrenic. 'Using my voice' could refer to the spirit recognising the app is saying what they are saying, but it could also refer to paranoia that spirit experiences, or even different voices it could have been hearing.
Breaking up the double and triple arrows like this could show some interesting narratives and it could help show potential speech patterns of spirits when communicating through this app. Before analysing further, I'm going to include a picture with a line splitting the chart into how I think the patterns are flowing.
The black line you can see splits up the table into how it should possibly be read. To me, that first segment in particular makes sense with that pattern of arrows. The other bits are not as coherent, and this only gets worse as you go down the list, especially regarding patterns with arrows. This could be other spirits seeing what I'm doing and seeing I can communicate with them and so they all jump in and talk over one another. It would be interesting if each word list I do starts off clear with arrow patterns and conversation, but then descends into chaos like this one seems to. It's also interesting that the first two blocks of patterns with the arrows have six arrows each.
You can see the first block is about 'Walter', the possible mental convict, the second block is about the child, and then the third block goes on to say about the mum and the actual event which happened. In total there are eight increases in time taken to say a word (discluding the final arrow you see), and ten decreases in time taken to say a word. This is almost an even split with a ratio of 8:10, increases:decreases.
Above you can see the second half of the words list. There are eleven increases in time taken to respond and eleven decreases in time showing an even split of 11:11. This is an overall ratio of 19:21 which is still very close, but shows the responses overall increased in speed.
Minimum time to respond: 21s
Maximum time to respond: 1m 10s
Average time to respond: 42s
Patterns with the arrows are not quite as clear in the second part of the table due to it being lots of increase, decrease, increase, decrease, with a few doubles thrown in here and there. There is nothing too clear for an obvious pattern. I do think the arrows between 'Gloria' and 'Florence' could show a potential pattern though.
From looking at the list, I would think there are definitely multiple spirits present. I can see the theme of a husband and wife having some sort of conflict. I can also see 'James' and 'Florence' being relevant, along with a child. There isn't really anything else that can be determined about the spirits themselves.
Due to the amount of negatives and almost equal increases and decreases, along with the same number of male and female names being spoken, I am inclined to think the app is not random but is potentially elaborately faked. If the themes and names I've discussed to being relevant keep cropping up in this location, then I will believe there are spirits communicating through this app. Knowing what I've gotten from other lists, I do not think it is faked, but judging on this list alone, it could be. It definitely isn't random enough to be simply a random word generator.
