Journal Entry 6

5/10/22 - Entry 6

The time is 19:36 and I am currently sat in the 'Castle In The Air' Wetherspoons beside the Chill Factor in Trafford. I have the Spirit Talker app on and the first foreign word has appeared, this being 'Aldous' which is a German or Italian name which means 'old' or 'wealthy' or 'noble'.

The word 'Aldous' appearing is also interesting as Josh mentioned Germany around the same time. I've ended the investigation a little early because I didn't know what time I started, but I have restarted. Also, an important note is that sometimes Spirit Talker has said a word but saved a different word in its place. For 'Castle In The Air P2', 'Under the ground' was repeated but was replaced by 'God'.

My Present Thoughts

For quick bits of context, Josh was someone I worked with, and I was at a social gathering with friends from work at the time of writing this journal entry. Also, when I say about cutting the session short, this is because at the time of writing this entry Spirit Talker didn't have the ability to scroll down saved word lists. This meant the app could save roughly forty-five minutes worth of words before any further words saved would be cut off the list. This meant whenever I had the app on, I had to be time conscious as I didn't want to go beyond the forty-five minute mark and lose words. You can see this time frame reflected in both lists featured in this article.

Although this journal entry is incredibly short, mainly due to me being at a social gathering at the time, it does provide three important details about the Spirit Talker app. As you can see from the date of the entry, I've been using Spirit Talker for a couple of years now, and I am still yet to see anyone sufficiently debunk it. I know there is debate in the paranormal community as to if apps work, and my stance on this is that just because some don't work, this doesn't mean all don't work. I feel each app needs to be debunked individually, just as what needs to happen with paranormal investigation teams. I know it's been said that moving the device can effect Spirit Talker's output, but as far as I am aware this effects word frequency, not which words are spoken. Plus, I don't deem that as the app being fake, but rather as other teams misusing the app possibly for purposes of fakery or making their investigation more entertaining to view.

The three important details are a foreign word being spoken for the first time, this word coinciding with what was being discussed at the time, and spoken words being replaced in the list the app saves. As this was the first time a foreign word was spoken, this implies to me that the app goes through small updates. Further evidence to this is that the app suddenly began to say a high frequency of Latin words for a period of time in other lists. This Latin frequency persisted across locations, and then ended as suddenly as it had begun. This heavily implies the Spirit Talker app does go through updates which effect what words it can say.

I've been told that the app has no word bank, but rather it detects environmental changes which place together phonetics and then it's these phonetics that make the word which is spoken. I've also been told that the app doesn't have enough coding to be able to listen to what you say. This makes the point about it saying a German word at the same time as, and seemingly in response to, Germany being mentioned very interesting. A German word being spoken for the first time and at the same time as Germany being mentioned seems like too much of a coincidence to me, and this is why I had to write it down. To me it seems either the app can hear you, and this is what happened here, or it may provide some genuine paranormal communication. There is of course the third scenario where it was just a coincidence, but these kinds of coincidences seem far too frequent when using this app; and that's why I keep using Spirit Talker.

The final thing of note is when 'Under the ground' was replaced by the word 'God'. This is more a message of caution when it comes to using the Spirit Talker app when analysing the lists it saves. This kind of error will sway the results analysed, and so it's important to take note of what's being said as it's being said instead of relying solely on the list of words the app saves. As far as I'm aware, this error has been resolved, but it's hard to know when the error happens when lengthy lists are created. I suspect I only noticed it here because of the new word and the potential shorter gathering of words.

Thank You!

Thank you for reading this journal entry! If you haven't read the others, I recommend you do as they're a good documentation of my own personal progression in the paranormal. The next few entries I upload will be particularly interesting as they document the start of when I moved from random word list gathering with the Spirit Talker app to conducting solo Ouija board investigations. These articles also serve as good documentation of how my own views on the paranormal have changed over time, plus they serve as a good inside look for anyone new who is interested in investigating the paranormal.
