The 2026 Database Review
Welcome to the 2026 Database Review!
This article will be continuing the yearly tradition of reviewing the database, both good and bad, by going over the statistics and details from the past year. Really, I should probably call this the 2025 database review as we are reviewing statistics gathered from 2025; but as I'm writing this in 2026, it's called the 2026 review. The year of 2025 saw some absolutely amazing things happen, but the year went for a major wobble at a couple of points. During these points, I was either going through a terrible time mentally or I had increased my work hours when I worked as a team leader.
The year of 2025 saw fantastic growth of not only the database, but also of The True Paranormal's tiktok presence. The database reached an all-time high of 20,980 views during one month, and The True Paranormal has passed 5000 followers on tiktok. Before I discuss things any further, I would like to list a few names I would like to thank for all of their support across the Facebook and Tiktok platforms. First, I want to say thank you to Inge Hoogmartens for always liking and commenting on my Facebook posts without fail. They've been incredibly supportive on that platform, and I honestly can't thank them enough. I would also like to give a huge thank you to Harry for being my very first Super Fan over on Tiktok! This financial support is what allows me to keep on writing and uploading articles to the database, so it's really appreciated.
I would also like to give a massive thank you to Nathan Zorbotron, Bonelespizza, and Tegs for all subscribing to The True Paranormal on Tiktok. Again, without their monthly financial support I wouldn't be able to keep doing what I'm doing with trying to progress the paranormal field in a way I don't think anyone else is; so, thank you so much for your ongoing support. I would love to thank each and every person who has ever donated as I did in the update last year, but there are now far too many of you to list. As this also goes for anyone who has ever shared an article, I instead want to list the names and thank everyone who I can currently see that is an active fan club member over on Tiktok:

The Year Of 2024
The year of 2024 was what I would call the 'boom year' of the database as this is when I made a real effort to consistently post two articles per week, and it's when I started to run two consistent adverts to promote the database on Facebook. Below, you can see a recap of the statistics shared during last years database review so that you can all get a solid understanding of how the database was performing by the end of January 2025.

The Year Of 2025
As you can see from the statistics from the 2024, the database was performing at around 15,000 views a month. I was running two different advertisements here which is why articles all passed 1k views. One advert was to promote the databases homepage, and the other was to directly promote a new article for a week. Through 2025, I did change this due to a high amount of inconsistency with uploading articles. So, I kept the advert which promotes the homepage running consistently and I stopped running the advert which promoted specific articles. This was done not only due to the inconsistency with publishing, but it was also done as I needed to save money during this time.
Last year, I set a few aims for myself in January to try and improve the statistics across platforms. These plans all went off the rails quite early in year though. Due to various events, such as my Grandpa dying and my girlfriend breaking up with me, happening with close proximity; the database peaked during April but then nosedived with a low point in June. Things did pick up again for August, but as I was team leader from August until the end of November, the full time hours meant I couldn't publish any articles and so the database saw another dip. Thankfully though, as I'm no longer working full time, I've managed to pull the database back up to where it should be. Below you can see all of the statistics for 2025 which have been gathered at the time of writing this (January 2026).

Going into 2026
For this month, January 2026, the database has gained 3,743 views so far. It's important here for me to discuss a number of things which I introduced during last year and the aims going forward. As I discussed, last year I was only running one advert for most of it and this is what I'm still doing now. Given that the database saw all time highs regarding the monthly views last December, I'm only going to keep the database running on one advert until I reach a good level of publishing consistency. If I publish consistently and growth isn't where I want it to be, then I may resume the second advert again. However, as I've already said, I'm in no rush to currently do this.
Last year my aims were to be more consistent and to publish more kinds of content such as livestream article discussions and article snippets. This didn't happen, and I'm still struggling with consistency. So, I've decided that I'm going to be putting all of my effort into the database and Tiktok as these are the two platforms which have performed the best for me. I will still be uploading to most other platforms and interacting on Facebook too. The only platforms I'm probably going to disappear from for a little bit are Youtube and Pinterest. Pinterest saw little to no growth, so it makes no sense to keep posting on that platform. Youtube has been difficult regarding music copyright, so we will see how that goes.
I will continue to upload location articles every Monday, and articles documenting paranormal influencers, experiences, artifacts, and folklore each Friday. As you will have noticed in the statistics, I have branched out a fair bit on Tiktok. Not only am I now livestreaming each night there until midnight; but I'm uploading article promotion videos, lego based videos, and Minecraft based videos. I'm currently quite behind on these, but I'm hoping to be caught up by the end of January. It's all shown to be very successful, so you will continue to see these videos on Tiktok. I'm also going to try and find time to upload article read outs as subscriber only content on Tiktok, plus comedic news updates about the world. As for all other platforms, such as Tumblr and X, you can expect the same as what I've been doing through 2025.

As there were 52 full weeks during 2025, I should have published 104 articles; so, publishing only 33 is quite disappointing. However, as explained earlier, it was quite a turbulent year with various personal matters and with me working full time for four months. I'm hoping that by the end of 2026, I've written at least 50 articles as that means I'll be averaging around one article being published per week. I'm incredibly happy though that the database statistics have improved, and I'm particularly happy with how much the Tiktok following has grown since I've started livestreaming each day. I'm hoping we hit 10,000 Tiktok followers by the end of next year, and I really hope that I can interview someone in person and have a proper conversation with them about the paranormal. Ideally, this would be done with Richard Felix.
Thank You!
I now want to end the article with a special thank you to both Sean Evans from the Youtube channel 'Lift Hills and Thrills' and Claire from the Youtube channel 'Don't Scare Claire'. It's rare that people will reply and genuinely take the time to help or have a conversation with you, so I'm extremely thankful and appreciative for these two people. Sean has provided a number of quotes for me when it comes to theme park related articles, and Claire allowed me to interview her in order for me to provide accurate information in the article which documents her involvement with the paranormal. Claire has also provided the database with quotes from Alton Towers employees she's in contact with, and so this has helped to accurately document people's paranormal experiences. So, thank you very much to both Sean and Claire.
I also want to give a huge thank you to my family, particularly my mum, for being extremely supportive financially while I'm only working three days a week so I can keep writing the articles. I think the paranormal field is one which has become stuck in a rut where no one is really driving it forwards, and so I'm grateful to be able to continue the work here so I can try and progress it in my own way. It really baffles me how we have all of the scientific discoveries and technology you see today, yet we are no closer from gaining a definitive answer on if spirits exist. That's a discussion for a different article though, and I'll publish that at the end of January.
The next article should be published on Tuesday the 6th of January and will document a location in Denbighshire. The following article should be published on Friday the 9th of January and will document an experience. I really do hope that I can improve my consistency this year as I really do think that will be key to the growth of the database from here. I look forward to seeing what 2026 will bring, and hopefully I can do a video interviewing Richard Felix at some point as that will be fantastic due to him being one of the few people I've heard actually discuss his own thoughts on how the paranormal works; not just if it exists or not.
